Another testing request. Kernel 2.6.31 is planned to be stabled soon on all architectures. Hereby I now ask users on stable x86 systems to upgrade to gentoo-sources 2.6.31-r6 or vanilla-sources 2.6.31.6 and report back to me in all cases (failure or success). The other arches appreciate tests, too, but I can't speak for them. Thanks in advance.

The wireless starts to disbehave after a couple of sleep/resume cycles. But since I cannot reproduce it regularly, I decided that I was too busy to debug it. Going back to 228.57.2.23 solved the problem for me. So you might watch out for other users complaining about wireless problems on intel hardware.

waiting for the upstream now ...
The server extracted it fine but for some reason the netboot environment gets stuck on Applying 4400_alpha-sysctl-ua c.patch (-p0+) ... and just sits there forever.I started the extraction last night before going to bed and thats what I saw on the screen, and it was still there 8 hours later when I looked again.

Updated successfully on Dell D630 (C2D T8100, iwl3945, Nvidia Quadro NVS 135M, XFS, bluetooth).
The only problem was kvm-kmod-88-r1 witch doesn't compile. But this is a known bug and in-kernel modules work just fine.

All hardware (isight, lid-induced sleep, audio, wifi, keyboard hotkeys) are working.
I chose mostly default values with make oldconfig.
Results seem stable as far as I can tell.
